Roland JX-3P
Digital Analogue Synthesiser
The Roland JX-3P was launched as a digitally controlled analogue synthesiser in 1983.
The synthesiser shared several of its common components and philosophies with the Roland Juno and Roland Jupiter synthesiser ranges. The key difference was the inclusion of the digital osscolators which stopped the tones on this synthesiser drifting in pitch from cold to operating temperature.
Its principles features were:
the 2 digitally controlled oscillators use to generate the tones.
while limited it had MIDI installed in the base operation.
32 user memory presets.
the ability to save user tones to cassette tape.
a step sequencer.
a 61 note keyboard.
This synthesiser became key instrument in the drum and base music production scene.
