Using SYSEX to Backup and Restore
The D-70 has a relatively good MIDI implementation. The implementation is closer to a MIDI controller of the time that a synthesiser. This implementation works well until you try to backup and restore the keyboard using the instrustry standard SYSEX method. You will read the manual and still be none the wiser how to actually achieve these two tasks.
I was asked by several musicians though my YouTube channel if I could tell them how to perform the backup and restore processes on the D-70 and links to the videos are set out below.

Unlike using a ROM based memory card to perform the backup and restore process on your D-70. The SYSEX method to backup and restore the instrument does not restore the direct jumps menu.
